Repair Engineer
As a Repair Engineer, your job is to analyze faults with electronic musical equipment and repair them. This requires electrical engineering skills as well as the ability to research problems, identify solutions, and potentially discuss with customers the tradeoffs between trying courses of action and their potential successes. Of course, having a working knowledge of how to troubleshoot problems as well as a familiarity with a wide variety of electronic musical instruments is valuable. At the same time, a smart technician who has strong analytical skills but less domain knowledge is attractive for the role as well.
Along the way, you’ll work on developing your knowledge of electronic musical instruments, troubleshooting techniques, recording techniques, and more. You will also have opportunities to participate in other Patchwerks programs such as lessons, events, sales, and marketing.
Responsibilities

Executing repair of electronic instruments, replacing parts, analyzing problems, and seeking solutions that stand the test of time

Organizing technical work for repair of instruments from a variety of customers and a variety of products

Communicating tradeoffs between research costs, time, and value to the customer for their instrument
- Working with manufacturers to address product defects and organize returning merchandise when defective

Representing the Patchwerks brand directly to customers
Qualifications

Electrical engineering skills and demonstrated track record of repair of electronic musical instruments or products in a similar domain

Curiosity to learn about sometimes arcane parts, designs, and procedures

Strong verbal communication skills
